1.The design and discovery of novel organocatalysts for organic synthesis.
2.The utilization of N-heterocyclic carbenes in transition metal catalyzed reactions.
3.The application of free radical chemistry in organic synthesis.
4.The anti-cancer drug discovery.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

1. The study of the 1,3-stannyl shift in the intramolecular free radical cyclization.
2. The discovery of the immobilization methods for small molecular, peptides, proteins, and carbohydrates on the glass surface biochips and magnetic nanoparticles using the azide-alkyne Huisgen cycloaddition reaction.
3. The synthesis of the molecular [c2]daisy chain and [2]rotaxanes using the threading-followed-by-swelling approach.
4. The synthesis of various N-heterocyclic carbene borane complexes as novel reagents in the free radical reductions, ionic reductions, and Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions.
